First we made Cranberry Bread and I will get those pictures from Mrs. Chursciel! The kids were awesome! They brought in all the ingredients, worked well with small group and then cleaned up so well, you would never have thought there was a mess in our room. Bread came out great and hopefully you all had a chance to try their masterpieces!!
The afternoon was spent experimenting with cranberries. We had 4 different stations where students learned about cranberries. We started it off with a video on a cranberry bog for the whole group then they broke into smaller groups. At one station they had to predict if the cranberry would float in oil, water and soda water.
The next station they examined a cranberry and then drew a cross section of it. They had a chance to taste a cranberry at this point, some of them it was their first time!
At another station the students created crannies. Colonial Americans used crannies, 10 on a string, to measure with. They did a great job sewing the crannies. So impressed.
The last stop was the Tasting Table! They were able to try cranberry sauce, cranberry juice, cranberry bread and cranberries. Again, this was a the first time for many of these kids and they did a great job!
