First Week

What a start to a wonderful year! The students have been great, even with the heat.  We did many activities to get to know each other this week, along with modeling expectations for recess, lunch, walking in the hallway and using the restroom.  Students were all given agenda books from our gracious PTO where they should be writing down assignments daily.  As you know, tons of paperwork has gone home and many of you spent the last two evenings filling them out. It is very important that students return the Student Information form and the Health Form. Both have information needed to make sure that the students are safe at FES.

Today students received information about the River fieldtrip.  We are super excited to receive funding to support this enriching activity that follows closely with our science standards. Students only need to pay $10.00 for this trip where they will have the opportunity to canoe down the Nashua River and determine the quality of water.  The students need to return the blue and white sheets in order to participate. We NEED chaperones too! Students will canoe with an adult, so in order for this to work we need volunteers. The yellow packet is for parents to fill out if they can chaperone.
Sept.21- Mrs. Ackerman and Mrs. Chrusciel
Sept. 22- Mr. Cucolo and Mrs. Araneo

Tomorrow students will finish their STEM project of building the tallest structure they can with straws and tape that will support a tennis ball. They will also be taking an OGAP assessment which will help us to determine where kids are in understanding different types of word problems.  Hoping for a cooler day tomorrow, knowing we have a long weekend to rest up recuperate!
